I love my body. I love my life. (but it wasn’t always this way).

For years I have struggled with cystic acne, horrific stomach bloating and cramping, odd aches and pains, anxiety, insomnia, lack of energy and stress. Each time I would try to address my health issues with a doctor, I would always be prescribed a pill to mask my symptoms. The pills would never make me feel better, instead they would create a new set of problems and side-effects. My frustration hit an all time high at the age of 33, I had my first endoscopy, colonoscopy and stomach biopsy. The biopsy came back negative but I still did not have answers.

I took my health into my own hands.

For most of my life I ate “foods” that followed the Standard American Diet (“SAD” diet). My diet was made up of animal products and processed foods. I decided I needed to change the way I looked at food and health. I set off on a health quest, and read every health related book and blog I could get my hands on. I started to limit the amount of animal products (completely cutting out dairy) and stopped eating anything that came in a box. I cut back on caffeine and increased raw fruits and veggies. Soon, my skin cleared up and I stopped having as many stomach problems.

My Training

I received my training as a Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition’s cutting-edge Health Coach Training Program.

During my training, I studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts. My teachers included Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating; and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities.

My education has equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health. Drawing on these skills and my knowledge of different dietary theories, I work with clients to help them make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.

In 2014, I completed my 200 hours of yoga teacher training at Avalon Yoga in Palo Alto. I love yoga and do it just about every day. However, you won’t see me on Instagram doing crazy yoga poses. I do yoga mostly in the privacy of my home. In my yoga practice, I focus on reducing stiffness from sitting all day and also reducing stress and anxiety. I give clients advice on how they can incorporate yoga into their busy schedules and show them that yoga does not need to be a flexibility competition.
